This course is very rich, full of knowledge and content. It took me to a different dimension. it helped me to get connected to the spirituality of the Islamic art. Going with Mai to visit the Islamic monuments and to discuss in depth was a great experience. Mai did an amazing job to simplify the content. She was present and very patient to answer all kind of question. It is an an asset to attend this course.
الكورس رائع جدا ومكثف، يغوص في معاني العمارة الاسلامية ويعطي الدارس عمق وثقافة متنوعين. أنصح به لمحبي الفلسفة والفكر والباحثين عن المعنى وراء المبنى.
As an aspiring architect, I have found Islamic architecture intriguing, a phenomenon that melds spirituality and physicality to the metaphysical and reaches far beyond our limited comprehension. This course provided insight that not only gave insight into architecture but also helped me understand its art form, from colors, forms, and shapes, all of which bring the occupants within that space an experience. It also shows the echoes of history and how they were conceived, an understanding we are now grappling with. I recommend this course to anyone wanting to learn a different perspective of spirituality and how its architecture can influence your emotions. The Lecturer is nothing short of knowledgeable, as the information is explained and shown for a comprehensive understanding. Even though there was a lot of information to cover, I still found the lecture interactive. Couldn’t ask for a better lecturer. I enjoyed the class, though my Arabic is limited, I welcome the gestures, so I’m glad to learn more than expected. Moreover, I was amongst some of the nicest people. The other participants just added to the enjoyment of looking forward to these classes.
